Totally natural, each item is nature made, and then crafted individually by hand, from the wood of our abundant New Zealand native tree fern, the Black Mamaku.

These magnificent tree ferns are commonly referred to by Maori as "ponga" are the “Black Mamaku” fern, (Cyathea medullaris). 

Tree ferns are a distinctive feature of New Zealand's bush, and grow to a height of 20 meters with a graceful umbrella of fronds. Beneath the exceptionally hard outer bark, is the multi colored, natural paisley shaped grooves formed by each frond as it unfurls. Each tree’s pattern is unique to the individual, much like human finger prints.
